AMCE 2025

2025 5th International Conference on Advanced Materials and Chemical Engineering (AMCE 2025), jointly organized by Kunming University of Science and Technology and the Key Laboratory of Advanced Materials for Rare and Precious Metals of the Ministry of Education, and with the strong support of the School of Chemistry and Chemical Engineering of Central South University and Guangdong University of Petrochemical Technology, was successfully held and concluded in Kunming on July 26, 2025. This conference has attracted many outstanding experts and scholars from home and abroad to gather together, focusing on the frontiers of green innovation and materials science, and promoting exchanges, cooperation and technological progress in the fields of new materials and chemical engineering.

At the beginning of the morning session, Professor Yu Xin, the deputy secretary and discipline secretary of the Party Committee of the School of Materials Science at Kunming University of Science and Technology, delivered an enthusiastic opening speech. Professor Yu, on behalf of the university, extended a warm welcome to the experts and scholars who had traveled from afar, and briefly introduced the development and achievements of Kunming University of Science and Technology and the School of Materials Science. He pointed out that this conference, with the theme of "Green, Innovation, Integration", is in line with the school's motto "Stemming from Virtue, Bearing Responsibility, Cultivating Knowledge, and Acting with Diligence", and he expected that the conference would promote interdisciplinary research and the integration of industry, academia and research, and contribute to the innovative development in the fields of new materials and chemical engineering.

Subsequently, a number of leading industry experts and renowned scholars delivered high-level keynote speeches: Professor Li Guiyin from Guangdong Petroleum and Chemical College presented a topic titled "Research on Electrochemical Sensing for Combined Detection of Liver Cancer Markers", introducing an electrochemical sensor constructed based on nanomaterials for multi-marker combined detection, which is expected to enhance the sensitivity and specificity of early diagnosis of liver cancer.

Professor Liu Jingshang from Tianjin University of Technology's presentation titled "Solar Energy-Driven Conversion of Small Molecules for Practical Applications" focuses on the technology of efficiently driving the conversion of CO₂ and NOx and other gas molecules using solar energy. It aims to overcome the bottleneck of low carrier utilization rate and achieve low-carbon and high-efficiency synthesis of green chemicals.

Senior Engineer Li Guangzhong from Northwest Institute of Nonferrous Metals presented a report titled "Preparation and Application Research of Metal Membrane Materials for Hydrogen Purification", introducing the preparation processes and performance characteristics of palladium-based and tantalum alloy membrane materials in the efficient purification of hydrogen gas.

Professor Olim Ruzimuradov from Tashkent Duyun Institute of Technology delivered a live online presentation on "High Selectivity Lithium Extraction Adsorbent Based on Li-Mn Olivine", elaborating on the synthesis and structure regulation of the lithium-manganese olivine adsorbent, and promoting the development of green lithium resource recovery technology.

Professor Fang Dong from Kunming University of Science and Technology delivered a special report titled "Preparation of Platinum-based Catalysts by Pre-Lithiation-Deposition Technology and Research on Their Oxygen Reduction Performance", presenting the synthesis strategy of high-performance low-platinum fuel cell catalysts and the mechanism for improving their oxygen reduction reaction (ORR) performance, providing technical support for the commercialization of fuel cells.

The splendid reports not only showcased the latest scientific research achievements in the fields of new materials and chemical engineering, but also provided valuable academic references and cooperation opportunities for the participants.

The afternoon meeting was divided into two sub-forums: the Advanced Functional Materials and Electrochemical Innovation Sub-forum and the Environmental Materials and Engineering Technology Application Sub-forum. The two sub-forums brought together the vitality and wisdom of many young scholars, where wonderful reports and exchanges were held around themes such as functional material design, electrocatalysis, environmental detection and resource utilization, promoting the growth of young scientific research forces and academic innovation. After intense competition, the sub-forum selected several best oral presentation awards to honor young talents who have performed outstandingly in academic performance and innovation ability.

2025 5th International Conference on Advanced Materials and Chemical Engineering not only enhanced the academic level of related disciplines in new materials and chemical engineering, but also strengthened communication and cooperation among universities, research institutions and enterprises. The successful holding of the conference has injected strong impetus into the green development and technological innovation of new materials in our country.
